•Doris Bergstrom, WIC Clerk and Healthy Start Home Visitor has been chosen as Cloud County Health Department’s featured employee for September.
•Doris was raised in Concordia, graduated from Concordia High School and has lived most of her married life in Republic County.  Doris has previously worked as a CNA at the Republic County Hospital, Home Health Aide for agencies in Belleville, Mankato, and Cloud County Home Health Agency.  Doris started working at the Cloud County Health Department in August of 1999 as a Home Health Aide.  In June of 2005 she started working as WIC clerk and Healthy Start Visitor.
•As WIC clerk she plans, implements and evaluates all components of the Women, Infant and Child program at the local level. Doris coordinates outreach efforts with appropriate community programs, and works closely with the WIC dietician, and oversees check issuance. As Healthy Start Visitor she is responsible for providing education, support and local resource referrals to new and expectant mothers.
•Doris is married to Lyle Bergstrom who is warehouse manager for Coca Cola and farms.  The Bergstrom’s have two sons John, and wife Chylo who live in Garden City, Ks. And Karl and wife Melanie who reside in Salina, Ks. John is a computer and animal science tech for Lextron in Garden City.  Karl is an engineer for Premier Pneumatics in Salina, Ks. A son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Dinah, have passed on. The Bergstrom’s have three granddaughters, Corrine, Rayenahe and Meara Bergstrom, Garden City, Ks.

When Doris is not working, she has several pastimes that she loves to spend time doing. One of the things she is best known for in the community is her love of, and ability to cook.  She is always busy baking pies or catering meals for her friends, neighbors or church functions. Doris loves to read, and her newest pastime is playing the piano.  The Bergstrom’s have a special place in their hearts for their faith and membership to the Ada Lutheran Church.  Doris’s job knowledge and efficiency help provide Cloud County  residents with two valuable programs.  Congratulations Doris on a job well done and for eight years of dedicated service to Cloud County Health Dept.
